How to read a handicap line
Asian handicap gives one team a virtual goal start or deficit so that the draw disappears. A negative line such as −1 means your team gives the handicap: one goal is taken off its score before the result is worked out. A positive line such as +1 means your team receives an extra goal.
Whole lines (0, 1, 2) can end level, and the stake is returned. Half lines (0.5, 1.5) cannot. Quarter lines (0.25, 0.75, 1.25) split the stake into two equal halves, one on the line 0.25 below and one 0.25 above — which is where half wins and half losses come from. Notice the pattern: a −0.25 line protects half the stake if the match is drawn, while −0.75 pays half a win if your team wins by exactly one goal. Quarter lines exist to "split the difference" between two lines, so the prices come out more balanced.
Negative odds and the amount at risk
This calculator always treats the "stake" as the amount you are risking. With negative Malay odds, some slips show the amount you can win as the stake and deduct a smaller amount if you lose. Both give the same ratio; if in doubt, convert the price to decimal with our Malay odds converter and enter the amount genuinely at risk.
In-play handicap (running ball)
At most Asian sportsbooks, an in-play handicap counts from the score at the moment you bet. If you bet in the 60th minute at 1–0, only the goals after that count. Enter just those goals in the calculator — for example, if the match finishes 2–1, enter 1–1.

Questions players ask
How is a −0.75 handicap settled if the team wins by one goal?
Half the stake sits on −0.5 and wins; the other half sits on −1 and is pushed because the margin is exactly one goal. The result is a half win: RM100 at odds of 0.90 makes a RM45 profit.
What happens on a 0 handicap if the match is drawn?
A 0 handicap, or level ball, returns the whole stake if the match is drawn. If either team wins, a bet on that team wins in full.
Can I use this calculator for running ball bets?
Yes. Enter only the goals scored after the bet was placed, because in-play handicaps are normally settled from the score at that moment.
